Hi Cotton Jack Russell Terriers
All terriers were originally bred to be more aggressive. They had to be brave enough to go below ground and find animals that were in some cases larger than themselves.
They had to be independent thinkers because once in the earth no one can tell them what to do.
The word Terrier means "Earth Dog". They are called that because they would go into the earth, below ground, to hunt. They will hunt alone or go into small tight places if not confined.
Jack Russell Terriers are baying terriers. They bark. They were orignially bred to go below ground and cause a fox to bolt or to hold it unharmed till it could be released so the hunt could continue.
